Blood Help exists only to help save lives
This platform was created solely to connect voluntary donors with people in serious medical conditions who need blood support. We facilitate humanitarian coordination — we are not a blood bank, broker, or marketplace.
Buying, selling, trading, or offering payment for blood or blood products is strictly prohibited on Blood Help in any form. Violations may result in immediate account removal and reporting to authorities where applicable.
These Community Guidelines explain how every member of Blood Help should behave so we remain a safe, respectful, and truly life-saving network.
Core principles
- Humanity first — act to help people in genuine medical need.
- Honesty — accurate blood groups, locations, urgency, and contact details.
- Voluntarism — donation is unpaid, uncoerced, and non-commercial.
- Respect — no harassment, hate speech, or exploitation of vulnerable patients.
- Safety — follow licensed medical facilities for actual blood draws and transfusions.
For donors
- Only register if you are willing to donate voluntarily when safely able.
- Update availability status; do not ghost urgent requests you committed to.
- Never request money, gifts, transport fees, or favours in exchange for donating.
- Decline if you are unwell, recently donated, or medically unfit — your health matters too.
- Protect patient privacy; do not share contact details or stories outside the Platform without consent.
For requesters & families
- Post only legitimate medical needs; do not exaggerate urgency to gain attention.
- Provide honest hospital or clinic information and realistic timelines.
- Thank donors and coordinators; do not pressure or guilt-trip volunteers.
- Never offer payment or rewards for blood on Blood Help — this is banned.
For hospitals, centres & societies
- Use verified organisation accounts; keep registration documents current.
- Coordinate with national blood safety regulations in your country.
- Do not use the Platform to source paid donors or sell blood products.
- Moderate your society members and report violations promptly.
Communication standards
- Keep messages relevant to blood support and patient care.
- No spam, chain messages, political campaigning, or unrelated fundraising.
- No discriminatory language regarding ethnicity, religion, gender, or health status.
Zero tolerance
Any attempt to buy, sell, or commercialise blood through Blood Help will result in content removal, account suspension, and possible referral to law enforcement. Read Prohibited Conduct.
